Hello Adam,

I think you have made a good choice by changing the pattern. The only minor thing is that you can see its handpainted but when you have added filters, chipping and dirt I think you will not see it anymore! treating this tiger like you did once with the jagdpanther this one will finaly end very well .

Best,

Roger

Looks nice Adam :) I must say I prefer this paint scheme better than the last one... You made the right choice

I like the handpainted look also... I mean the real tank was probably painted with brushes, so it makes sense that the model shows signs of this too.

Looking forward to the next steps... Let the fun begin :)

I know that there are lot of well informed modellers here that have done there homework. I am sure the new paint sceme is much more accurate........I LOVED THE OLD ONE! I hate to draw fire from a group of tellented artists and well informed historians like all of you but...........I just liked it more. I think it was much more out of the ordinary and far more eyecatching. Adam, it had your stamp on it. The angles of the dazzle-esque cammo and the colors used complimented the King Tiger very well.

Hi Adam,

Pity that you reconsider the camouflage, but he was very bold looks good, everything and I am not convinced modulation in this model, you master the techniques would have been nice to see how it evolves.

This new camouflage note that is more traditional but it looks good, a question in the missing pieces where the skirts let the color of camouflage?

Hey,
i was following this bb for a while before i registered here, actually to be honest, i dont like the new one.And thats because the camo you used before was something different you never saw before.Well i actually take a lot of care concerning historical correctness of my models, but your camo was just that eye catching i seriously loved it although i never found any pictures of this kind of camo.
The way you modulated the colours was stunning to me.Right now its another typical king tiger camo, nicely done, but still something you can see more or less often.

I dont think that painting a camo with a brush reduces the quality of a model.Camos were often done like that in the field, especially wintercamos etc. They even used brooms to apply *schlemmkreide* (sry i dont know the word in english, its what they used for the white camos).

Anyways, im curious about the finish of this one.lets see what happens!

Im new to this forum, i hope youre not angry about my post here.Just sharing my opinion with you guys.

greets

I agree with most of you in regards to changing the original camo. The problem is that the collector wanted it more accurate for a book he that also plans to put it in. I need to be professional and give him what he wants. The darker side to commission work guys. Besides, I have learnt a lot from this change.

I was able to do a bit of experimenting with this finish over the weekend. I decided to mix a dark-brown using Tamiya clear colors. This clear brown was used to obtain the shadows. I guess you can consider it color modulation but this time starting with the hi-lights and moving down. As always, oils where used to help blend the different tones. You will need to apply coat of satin varnish after the clears to town the gloss down a bit.

Thanks for all of the support.

Great work so far. I think this camouflage looks much better than the first one.
Which oils did you use for the fading ?

Looking great, you chanced the look with the modulation into a grat looking Kingtiger.
I understand the collector, that he wants a more accurate, because there was no Kingtiger with that green camo. That´s why I build my E-75. I´m free with the camo

Hey Adam,

I've always liked the more traditional camouflage patterns.
I think it's very smart to first apply the camouflage, and only afterwards to add the shades.
It's looking better and better my friend.
It was nice talking to you pal,

Excellent post shading Adam. Love those rain streaks too. Do you recall the mix ratio for the Clear Paints? Wait! OMG! you put the little nut retention wire around the mantle collar. I don't think I've ever seen that on a 1/35 Tiger before. 8)

Hello Lechner, the oils used were Buff, Tri-Tonal Fading, Luftwaffe Yellow, and Wash Brown. But I think the colors chosen are more of a personal thing.

Hello Tobias, I agree with your E-75. That one looks like fun man. Keep us informed.

Hello Wim, it was great to speak with you the other evening pal. Thanks for the support.

Hello again BK. We need to credit the fine construction abilities of Carlos de Diego for that wire. Dude, I cannot really remember the percentages of the colors used to make the clear mix. Just mix a dark brown and experiment a bit. The mix goes on faint and you will need to build it up in layers. Again, do not forget the satin varnish because the model will get real glossy. Thanks again.

You have really influenced me as well Sira. Always love your work.

Thanks guys

Dear Adam.

...superb finish,as usual!...the tonal modulation effect with clear colors is astonishing...very clever solution!

Following with a big interest...as always!

Best regards!

Great work Adam,

I'm glad you changed the camo. It's fun to watch you trying out new things, although the black background makes it hard to get a clear picture of all the work you put into this piece.

Keep it up,
Manuel
