Hobby Boss M4 HST

Postby antoniop » Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:40 am

Here is my current build.
The Hobby boss M4 HST (Class B container for 155, 240mm or 8 inch ammo)
I'm using AFV Club T48 tracks, Master Productions detailing kit and rear tarp and Eduard PE detail set.
This is the first picture of the model and more will follow

I had to rework the sprocket to make the tracks fit and some sanding and filing was needed almost everywhere.
The cabin is not glued but after the adjustments I could see that I won't need to use putty in most of the build. There are some ejector marks inside the crew compartment and on the wall separating crew and drivers compartments but is not complicated to make them disappear.
This is not a Dragon or a Tamiya kit precision wise.
But the cost quality ratio in unbeatable... unless you want to go for the resin Masters Productions full kit.

If asked to give an opinion on this kit would - BUY IT!
For the price and quality it's a must have.
The shortcomings that it has are within the reach of an average modeler to solve. It's an unusual subject, the goodies in the box are surprising (has chain for the winch and rear door, PE and paint masks for the windows).
I can say that building this one OOB is not only possible but will result in a very nice model.
I just didn't do it because I have this health condition called Post Marketitis that makes me go out and buy additional stuff for all the kits. It's incurable and has the tendency to get worse
