Marc, that's precisely the problem . . . I don't think there's a solution, other than to cut the tire and then add the bulges with epoxy or Green Stuff, then repaint . . .

I think sculping the tire my work out better, or mabye someone has a resin cast flat tire on the market . . .

I guess the search for perfection continues!

Nah, no luck, my friend . . . I'm going to have to sculpt the bulges on the sides . . . that's about the only way, I think. Sorry.

Although I am not definitely not giving up.

LOL! Yes, both toad licking and if you put salt on a frog or toad it will explode! Yikes!

Absolutely outstanding! Brilliant modelling and also excellent photography!

Another Tip for the tires (that's how I bulge Aircraft-tires all the time :) ), as "ironing" didn't work out for me either:
Heat up a pan with a bit of water on the oven and then gently push then tire in the water against the pan's bottom - the water will help the tire not to melt and you can work it longer to create a nice bulge. Works perfectly for me...

dont worry about sidewall bulgeing. i was concerded about it also, but looked on flat tires and realised that until it is total flat and left for a looong time the sidewall keeps it shape. the rubber and insertions (there is "something" in your tire) are keeping it cca with effect you created.
p.s. great job!

Sorry to bump this, but I wanted to let you know how much I learned from this build up. Thanks for the great SBS!
