This MIG Productions Contest is for all plastic modellers to display their capabilities and ideas with painting rusty knocked out and/or abandoned vehicles. Destroyed, scorched and discarded structures such as buildings are also included. Moderated by Sven Frisch
I painted the headlight bezels with a little drybrushed silver, added the glass, and then decided to break one and put a little wire in there as if someone had yanked out the bulb and wire with it . . . hum, maybe it's not so good a shot . . .
This one is a little better. Believe it or not the headlight glass was dusted with some grime . . .
Here are some pics of the chassis and dashboard . . . I decided to put the dashboard in just to have a little bit of detail visible through the windows . . .
I opened the glove compartment and busted through the gauges . . .
I think I am going to paint the dashboard a dark green and then the wheels will be like the hood, that lighter green . . .
Here's the primered chassis in all its glory . . . note how all the parts have been assembled and glued . . . and the frame has been squared up so that all the tires touch down and sit right . . .
I also worked on a couple of hubcaps and the fenders . . . trying to make them look aged and pitted but still chromed--original chrome!!! You know that has to be expensive to refurbish!
Rolling chassis coming together . . . I airbrushed it with different shades of runs . . . and gave it a light wash of Rustall . . . next up are the powders and pigments . . .
